News: Mad Max: Fury Road Gears Up

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is one of the leanest and meanest of all action movies, and one of my very favourites. It’s pared-back, brutal, and has a star-making turn by an even madder Mel Gibson. I recommend you go watch it now. Go on. I’ll still be here when you get back.

Watched it? Good, isn’t it? Well, director George Miller has finally stopped fucking about with pigs in the city and digital dancing penguins and pushed ahead with a fourth Mad Max film – Fury Road. Tom Hardy is due to take over the eponymous role and should be joined by Charlize Theron, with shooting set to begin in Nambia in March. And why should we believe such things, seeing as the film has been in development hell for like, forever? Take a look at these pics.

Said to be caught by a Mad Max forum poster, these vehicles are being built just outside Sydney before being shipped out to Nambia.
