News: New Trailer For Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire Looks Ridiculous Fun

Let’s do it. Let’s imagine the pitch – “Okay, guys. You’ve heard of Bourne, right?” “You mean like The Bourne Identity?” “Yeah. So, stick with me on this, imagine Bourne, right, but with a chick” “Oh. My. God. That’s GENIUS. Here, have all my money!” And so on…

Thing is, I can imagine Brett Ratner pitching this. Michael Bay too. But Steven Soderbergh? He wants to direct Haywire? In case you’re ignorant, yep, that’s the guy who brought us Out Of Sight, The Limey, Erin Brockovich, Traffic, and Ocean’s Eleven. How does this make any sense? It doesn’t, and quite frankly I don’t care.

Starring MMA star Gina Carano (basically, she could kick your ass in real life too) in the lead role, and *deep breath* Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, and Michael Douglas, this looks exactly the right amount of crazy action I need to get me through the lean winter months before the big blundering summer blockbusters rumble onto the scene.

Haywire slams its way onto UK screens in a couple of weeks, the 18th January.
