Yep, it’s there on the brand new poster. Here in the UK Marvel’s The Avengers will be known as Avengers Assemble. As Marvel have failed to come out and say anything, most people are assuming this down to legal issues with The Avengers TV series starring John Steed and Emma Peel. It would be surprising if Marvel changed it to avoid confusion with the ’60s series because I don’t think many people would make that mistake. That said, some folk really did ask for refunds after seeing The Artist because it was a silent movie

That’s enough of that, though. That’s not why you’re here. You guys want to see the fantastic new Avengers trailer that we rumoured about last week, don’t you? Well, here it is! Read more »

Cars aside, it’s an almost stone-cold guarantee that Pixar’s output will be of the utmost quality and the highest standard of storytelling. I have no doubt in my mind that Brave will carry on that fine tradition. The poster is intriguing (check out the big ol’ bear hiding behind the ‘R’), but if that doesn’t sell it to you, we have a brief clip down below. Have a look. Read more »

Some films wallow in their depression. Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem For A Dream comes to mind. A film so unrelentingly bleak that in envelops you in a cold dark blanket of despair. It’s brilliant, but after watching it once you wouldn’t ever want to sit through it again. Andrew Dominik’s The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford is not one of those films. I really adored The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. I thought the depresso-western was stunning. Elegiac, melancholy, I bathed in its beautiful mournfulness. So to say I’m excited by Andrew Dominik’s latest film, Cogan’s Trade, would be something of an understatement. Read more »
