News: Ridley Scott’s Prometheus Second Viral Video Released
The Prometheus marketing has jumped up a gear as expected. The sleuthing fandom unlocked the IMAX trailer earlier today. We’re still waiting on the Ridley Scott Q&A, but actors Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender are busy chatting away on Yahoo UK about their experiences on the film. Best of all, though, is a new viral video from Weyland Industries.
Guy Pearce’s Peter Weyland discussed the possibility of artificial life and robots in the TED talk video a couple of weeks back, leading on to this advert in which Michael Fassbender provides the narration and plays the spooky android in the plastic. It’s pretty cool seeing how Scott and writer Damon Lindelof are tying the worlds of Prometheus and Alien together. It’s also neat to see they kept the little easter egg tradition of the androids being named alphabetically with each film – Ian Holm’s Ash in Alien, Lance Henriksen’s Bishop in Aliens/Alien3, Winona Ryder’s Call in Alien Resurrection, and now Michael Fassbender’s David in Prometheus.
The full length trailer is to be aired in California tonight and will be released online on Monday. Not long to wait now.
The sci-fi spectacle that is Prometheus blazes onto UK screens from 1st June.
