The release of Prometheus (here in the UK, at least) is only two days away. The first reviews are out and doing the rounds. Here are the thoughts of The Hollywood Reporter, Empire, and Total Film if you want to know if the film lives up to the hype. Beware of spoilers, of course. If you’re a regular reader of my reviews you’d know at this point I’d typically write something funny about how the execs came to greenlight the movie, or how the director is someone who I really respect and admire. You may remember I wasn’t very kind about the latest The Dark Knight Rises poster. It looks like a fan-made mash-up of the teaser poster and the “Welcome To A World Without Rules” from The Dark Knight. You don’t need me to tell you The Avengers has been HUGE. A billion dollars box office in NINETEEN days. To put that in to perspective, it took Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight six months to reach the billion dollar mark. Marvel/Disney are dancing all the way to the bank, but what happens now? It’ll be three years until Avengers 2 if we’re lucky, what shall we do in the meantime? Worry not, Marvel has some plans (apparently)… Read more »
