News: Hans Zimmer’s Full The Dark Knight Rises Score, Thirteen Minute Featurette, And New Pics!
We’ve been teased with snippets of Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack for The Dark Knight Rises over recent weeks and from what we’ve heard everything has sounded suitably epic. Now Empire has managed to get ahold of the soundtrack in its entirety and has been kind enough to stream it for us to listen. Check out the thunderous “Gotham’s Reckoning” down below.
If the player was working properly I could play you all the tracks, but I think it’s being picky to make you go to Empire’s page which I guess is only fair. Make your may back once you finished listening to it, right?
Are you back? Good, because we have lots more Bat-related goodness to make our way through.
Here’s Yahoo’s exclusive IMAX trailer. A couple new lines – Christian Bale growling “Bane” and Tom Hardy admitting “I will destroy Gotham”. Apart from that, nothing we haven’t seen or heard before.
We have a few new pics, like the one of Batman above. He’s either quite pally or about to be caught by Gotham City’s Police.
Here’s Batman again after he’s taken out some of Bane’s goons.
Here’s an ace pic of Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman. I’ve said before her look for the film has grown on me. Now I love it. I can’t imagine her any other way.
I know I’m probably wrong here, and I should know better considering I run the blog and could go through all the pictures and check, but isn’t this our first real proper look at Marion Cotillard’s Miranda Tate? We’ve seen her fleetingly in the trailers, but hardly at all in any other of the film’s promotional material. Feels like the makers are deliberately trying to keep here character low-key for the not too shocking reveal that she’s Talia Al Ghul.
Here are some shots of director Christopher Nolan on set doing his thing.
Check out the size of that set! Look, you can see the fusion reactor we metioned a few weeks ago to the right of Bale and Nolan. In a recent Hero Complex article, Christian Bale had this to say about the director – “The things he’s doing in these films, a lot of it I don’t get to see — I’m not aware of it — until I sit and watch the finished film. There’s so much there in script but it comes together when Chris editing it. He knows what it is going to be. That’s why he’s very decisive on the set. The pieces already fit together in his mind.”
Talking about his vision for the film, Nolan said – ““We really wanted a cast of thousands, literally, and all of that for me is trying to represent the world in primarily visual and architectural terms. So the thematic idea is that the superficial positively is being eaten away from underneath; we tried to make that quite literal.”
Nolan says of the final part in his Dark Knight Trilogy is to create “a unified statement, a real ending, a true conclusion.” And the writer of the Hero Complex piece who has seen the finished film reveals – “The third act of the third film delivers a series of jolting twists and jarring turns and an exclamation point climax. Nolan’s finale takes Batman and his on-screen mythology to a place it has never been before.” Awesome.
And finally is a brilliant featurette on the film featuring all the major players. Tom Hardy make me chuckle with his Batman love. It deserves a watch just get the juices flowing before release in but TEN short days.
The Dark Knight Rises is almost here. On the 20th July we finally get to see it. It may not be the movie we want right now, but the one we deserve.
