News: Thor: The Dark World Set Pics And Casting News
Director Alan Taylor is busy filming Thor: The Dark World here in the UK for the next month or so and superherohype.com have managed to get ahold of some pics of the set while the production is busy in Bourne Wood.
Looks like a village of some kind. Maybe to do with the Dark Elves that are rumoured to be Thor’s foes this time around.
I wonder what this tower is. The equivalent of the Asgardian’s bi-frost that the Dark Elves use to travel around the galaxy?
Or possibly not. More likely watchtowers to see any attackers. It’s fun to wildly speculate!
This is a path leading to the set. Stops people’s shoes getting muddy. I’m full of the most useful information.
That blue van looks a little out of place. I think they might move it by the time it comes to film.
So, there we have a few pics of the set. Not exactly something to set the world alight, but interesting nonetheless. That’s not all though, we have more news!
Kat Dennings, who played Natalie Portman’s smart-mouthed friend Darcy in Thor, returns for Thor: The Dark World. Basically there to say the funnies and contemporise with mentions of iPods and the like in the original film, it’s said her role is slightly expanded for the sequel. This is a good thing.
And in other casting news, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, of Lost fame, has won the role(s) of Algrim The Strong, a powerful Dark Elf who’s manipulated into battling Chris Hemsworth’s Thor by the evil Malekith (Christopher Ecclestone). When defeated, Algrim loses his memory (that old comic book staple) and becomes an even stronger foe by the name of Kurse.
There we have it. What do you think? Glad to see Kat Denning return? Excited by the set? Let me know below.
Thor: The Dark World is due to hit cinema screens the world over from the 8th November 2013.
