News: Theatrical Trailer For The Wachowskis Cloud Atlas
A few weeks ago I showed you the epic six-minute long trailer for The Wachowskis and Tom Twyker’s Cloud Atlas. To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement. Still, a lot of you crazy kids seemed to like it in spite of the wanky “love is eternal, it survives through the ages” storyline, and the awful wigs and make-up worn by Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and all, so here I am writing about it again. For you. And for you, I bring the latest trailer for the film.
This is a shorter version for theatres, which makes the shift from the olde world to fantastical future a little more jarring. There’s nothing new here to make me change my mind about the film, it all seems a little Matrix Revolutions to me, by which I mean stuck up its own arse to an hilarious extent. Hey, I hope I’m wrong. It would be great to have The Wachowskis return to form, but I just don’t see it here.
Do you disagree with my take on Cloud Atlas? Argue vociferously down below.
Cloud Atlas hits screens in the US on the 26th October. We don’t get it here in the UK until the 22nd March 2013.
