The Bourne Legacy poster claims “There was never just one”. We know this. We’ve seen the Bourne trilogy. Those assassins sent to take Jason out after his memory problems? I’ve been on a bit of an action movie bender lately. Among the more forgettable, throwaway titles, I watched The Expendables, the movie that brings together an entire generation of action movie stars, and Taken, where Liam Neeson plays and ex-CIA agent who’ll go through anybody and anything to rescue his kidnapped daughter. Jeremy Renner is having a hell of a year – He saw it in with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, owned it by being a member of The Avengers, and will end the summer as Matt Damon’s replacement in The Bourne Legacy. Even Liam Neeson will have a problem topping that line-up and he’s in virtually everything. The question is, though, why should we care about the new Bourne film?
